My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27
Ok, I admit it - I'm a sucker for old songs. Golden oldies have now turned into "moldy oldies." That's ok. It's kinda fun listening to the old tunes and seeing what can be a second message in them. Yes, I know that the songwriter most likely did not have the same meaning in mind, but as I am beginning to see God everywhere, this seemed apt.
Yesterdays post range a nostalgic bell for me, so I kept looking and listening to music from the days I was growing up. I found another song I hadn't heard for years. I didn't realize that Skeeter Davis who sang yesterday's "The End of the World" also sang this song as a cover. I kept looking for the original song and below is what I found by Peggy March.
What an appropriate song to sing about our Lord and Savior. How I long to be able to lay claim to its words in everything I do.
Dear readers, there are so many things we may not be able to do as we face our challenges. Our world may grow smaller, but this is one thing we can always, always do.
Happy listening!
Father God, Following You can be, at the same time, the easiest thing we can ever do - and also the hardest. You have asked us to follow You. Grant us the strength, courage, and endurance to do so. I pray you will instill a joy everlasting inside of our spiritual beings as we do follow You where ever you go - and where ever you lead.. Amen and amen.
