How to Live Your Life

whiteflowers

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Philippians 2:3-4

Or as John Wesley commented:

“Do all the good you can,

By all the means you can,

In all the ways you can,

In all the places you can,

At all the times you can,

To all the people you can,

As long as ever you can.”

In this season of giving, it may be easy to become discouraged about how little we may be able to do for others.  This quote encourages me to remember some of the words that are easily overlooked.  We do what we can.  And if what we can do is very little - that too is blessed.

Remember the little things:  A smile, a wave, an email, a phone call, a card.  These can mean more to someone than me might ever realize.  And remember - the greatest gift to any of us has already been given.

Be blessed, my friends!

Father God, as we near the celebration of the birth of our Lord, help us to do what we can, when we can, all the while remembering that you have done the most for us that anyone could possibly do.  Amen and amen.
