You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for Your word. (Psalm 119:11 NIV)
God provides. And He is not limited in how He can do so. I find it interesting that our God knows that sometimes, we need a place to hide. There are times when all I want to do is run and hide. My God tells me that I am able to run and find that place in Him.
Sometimes, we need a shield. We need protection. There are times I feel out in the open, with no place to hide – vulnerable. Yet God provides a shield for me.
And always we need to wait for His word. Hiding, I am fairly good at. Seeking to lift up a shield to protect me, is something I can sometimes do.
And I am waiting. I continually wait to hear from my God.
He speaks in many ways. In His Word. Through others. Through music. Through His Son.
Yes, most of all I wait for His Son. In this seemingly crazed, upside-down world of ours – we have the promise of His Son to look forward too.
That promise was given to us over 2,000 years ago. Many want to deny that promise and say it never existed. Many say we are fools to wait for Him. Yet God’s word tells us that ultimately, every knee shall bow before Him.
We may need to hide.
God provides
We may need a shield.
God provides
We may need His Word.
God made the ultimate provision.
His Son.
God does indeed provide.
Father God, Thank you for each and every provision you have made for us. Having the knowledge that You understand each and every need we have and that you have given us the opportunity to claim every provision as our own is awe-inspiring. Amen and Amen. So be it, Lord!
